Kati has nearly a decade of experience in the child welfare and juvenile court system serving as a Social Worker III in Child Protective Services for San Mateo County. During this time, Kati supported program service development for emancipating foster youth and unaccompanied minors. In Santa Clara County, Kati supported both Deputy County Executive John Mills and Martha Wapenski as a Senior Executive Assistant in the area of Probation, Social Services, and Jail Reform.
Kati is a graduate of San Francisco State University, where she received a B.A. in Social Work. She is also a certified Paralegal. In her spare time, Kati volunteers as a translator for political asylum seekers at San Francisco Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, and is an advocate for El Salvadoran and Mexican immigrant communities in the Fair Oaks neighborhood of Redwood City.
