Billy DeFrank LGBTQ Community Center
Through collaboration and unity, the Billy DeFrank LGBTQ Community Center strives to provide a diverse platform for our community to meet, learn, be challenged, and grow. It offers many support groups, community events, and other information about LGBTQ resources.
The LGBTQ Youth Space
For Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning as well as ally youth and young adults ages 13 to 25 who live in Santa Clara County. The LGBTQ Youth Space offers counseling services, social and leadership opportunities, community outreach and education, and a safe and welcoming drop-in center.
LGBTQ wellness
LGBTQ wellness supports the mental health of LGBTQ community members and allies by providing outreach, education, and advocacy services. LGBTQ wellness serves diverse, multigenerational LGBTQ communities throughout Santa Clara County with a vision to build an affirmative culture.
Avenidas
Avenidas is a community-based nonprofit in Palo Alto whose mission is to help older adults in our community be as active, engaged, and healthy as possible throughout their lives by providing relevant services and programs. Avenidas launched their LGBTQ Seniors Initiative, which includes expanding services and new services, particularly within the areas of socialization and health education/cultural competency. Bill Wilson drop-in center
The Bill Wilson drop-in center in downtown San Jose helps homeless, at-risk youth ages 12 – 22 by providing necessities such as food, clothing, and personal hygiene items. The program also provides more comprehensive services, including counseling, living skills training, job readiness training, housing assistance, health education (including HIV prevention), and links to other services, such as access to legal services and health care.
Outlet
Outlet empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth ages 13-18 living in the Peninsula and South Bay through support services, leadership training, community education, and advocacy.
Santa Clara Trans Family Support Network
Santa Clara Trans Family Support Network is a peer-led group that supports the parents of trans youth and adults. It is a safe and respectful environment. Meetings are usually held on the 2nd Saturday of the month. 3-5 pm. If you are interested in attending, need location details, or have questions, please email [email protected].
TransFamilies of Silicon Valley
TransFamilies of Silicon Valley is a welcoming community of families with transgender and gender-creative children up and down the San Francisco Peninsula and throughout the South Bay. They hold monthly playgroups for families with young children, social events for family members of all ages, and an active online group for 24/7 parent and guardian support. Some other offerings include resources and referrals, advocacy, education consulting, and public speakers.
Transgender Gender-Variant and Intersex Justice Project
Transgender Gender-Variant and Intersex Justice Project is a group of transgender, gender variant, and intersex people—inside and outside prisons, jails, and detention centers—creating a united family in the struggle for survival and freedom.
Silicon Valley Pride
Silicon Valley Pride is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and our allies. It is the largest Pride celebration in the South Bay and is family-friendly.

Project MORE strives to improve the quality of life of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) community by empowering inclusion within a compassionate and safe environment through cultural activities, outreach, education, and advocacy.
PFLAG San Jose (Parents and Friends of Lesbian and Gays)
PFLAG San Jose (Parents and Friends of Lesbian and Gays) is the local chapter of the family and ally organization PLAG. PLAG comprises 400 chapters, and 200,000 members are committed to providing peer support, education, and advocacy.
Valley Homeless Healthcare Program – Gender clinic
Valley Homeless Healthcare Program - Gender clinic is a safe place for transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse people experiencing homelessness in Santa Clara County. The Gender clinic respects all aspects of people and is dedicated to providing warm, compassionate care to everyone. You can be seen in the clinic if you are experiencing homelessness and identify as transgender/ gender non-binary/ gender diverse.
Services include:
Primary care
Hormones and referrals, as needed and desired
Trans-affirmative gynecological care as needed and desired
Sexually transmitted infection and HIV testing and treatment
PrEP and PEP (the medicines that prevent HIV)
Mental health support and evaluation, as needed and desired
Substance use support and treatment, as needed and desired
Social support and housing services, as needed and desired

The Gender Health Center
The Gender Health Center is a safe place for transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse people of all ages for people and their families to receive information on and compassionate care for their gender experience.

Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN)
GLSEN believes every student has the right to a safe, supportive, and LGBTQ-inclusive K-12 education. We are a national network of educators, students, and local GLSEN Chapters working to make this right a reality. Our research and experience have shown that there are four major ways that schools can cultivate a safe and supportive environment for all of their students, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
